Emma (the Accountant) and Mary-Anne (the Marketer) were craving great networking events for business owners in Sydney.

Except they couldn’t find any.

They didn’t want to join a referral network, or be in a room of hundreds. They wanted to mix with like minded business owners, in a great backdrop (with great coffee).

So tired of searching … they created their own! Welcome to the Business Builders breakfast. A quarterly event in Sydney, for business owners aiming for growth and connection.

Launching my own digital agency in 2010 allowed me to leverage my big business marketing experience to focus on creating opportunities for small businesses, maximising what was then an emerging marketing approach, but today mainstream marketing.

My passion is providing solutions to small business owners, that motivate and inspire them. I feel personally rewarded by seeing the businesses we support grow. I am endlessly passionate about the digital landscape and the impact it can make. Equally my passion extends to supporting up-and-coming digital marketers to get a solid grounding in strategic digital marketing, in an environment that nurtures them to be their best.

While I may have started my career in a traditional corporate space, I’ve been able to cherry pick the very best bits of what I learned and weave them in with my human-centered style, to create The Accounting Division, with a true partnership approach to accounting.

At The Accounting Division we partner with business owners to get their business in shape, giving clarity on what’s happening now, where you’re headed and how you’re going to get there.

My day is filled with hearing the peaks and troughs of my clients’ businesses. Together we work through the challenges, celebrate the wins and, well, drink lots of coffee as we go.



We can’t wait to share this wealth of knowledge with you, with a Q&A focussed around Navigating Business over the Years.

Winnie is a recognised dance and pelvic health physiotherapist in Australia. Founding 4 physiotherapy clinics in Sydney over the last decade.  

Since becoming a mother of 2, she remains the Operating Director of 2 clinics, and continues to help women clinic owners launch and scale their clinics through The Clinic Project.  She advocates for creating win-win situations for patients, team and business owners, to revolutionise healthcare delivery in private practices by building better business models. 


Natalie Carrington

Bloom HR

Natalie’s been in the game of business and HR for over 13 years, and in 2011 founded Bloom HR, helping socially responsible organisations improve their performance and culture. Offering a fully outsourced or capacity building solution for organisations to tap into.

Her passion has seen her awarded Consultancy of the Year for her measurable impact on the community services sector and has led a client being awarded 14th Best Place to Work in Australia.


Nikki Malvar

As one of Sydney’s first Branding Photographers, Nikki has built a reputation for branding and commercial photography that balances both strategy and aesthetic appeal.

As founder of Heist Creative almost a decade ago, she helps industry leaders, brands and their teams nail their visual positioning, build their credibility, elevate their business and attract ideal clients.

Working with global multinationals to emerging businesses, Nikki has a true passion for small business, cultivating relationships and building together.

No, the Business Builders Breakfast is a quarterly event, with the only fee your ticket for the morning. There are no ongoing or sign up fees.


No! We hope you’ll meet other great business owners, and may choose to exchange details. But this is not a BNI or group that is driving revenue generation.


Yes – Finally!!! A Sydney in person event for business owners… with great coffee and pastries.


We understand it can be hard to work events around your schedule. Late arrivals / early departures are no problem, although you’ll get the most out of the event if you can stay the whole time!


This will be a great opportunity to meet other business owners, hear from an Accounting Expert and a Digital Marketing Mentor – plus take part in a Q&A with business owners further along the journey.


Emma and Mary-Anne have both been in business for well over a decade each, yet still love to hear from other business owners to get inspired. Our vision is this event will be beneficial to people at all stages of their journey.
